Just a thought..
I'm fitting my brembo 4 pots in a few days...
will the standard length brake hose still fit, (using goodridge, but its the same length as standard)
with plenty of "lock to lock" slack?
or will a longer brake hose be needed?

Stock hose is fine with a 302mm disk so I reckon the additional 5mm wouldn't be problem.
Best to trial fit and check the hoses at full lock with wheels fitted to make sure though.

I'm on 17's, but dont see how the wheel would cause an effect of the lock to lock, padi wrote:Yeah should do. I spoke to someone on here, who said he'd run his with standard goodrich ones. Also have the same end fittings too.
What wheels are you running? This may pose more of a problem though...
Cheers Chris.
as It's determined by the steering rack?
Thats wat I didnt want to do really, I just wanted to go outside, fit and drive,BadDave wrote: E38 728i Brembo's use the same M10x1.00 hose fitting as the stock sliding caliper

cant be arsed with, bleeding the system twice,
plus the bleed nipples on the 2.5 ones dont look in the best of condition,
Thats why i wanted to know if anyone had used longer hoses or standard length on the 312mm

**EDIT**
Suppose i could just,
bolt up the brakes,
cable tie the goodridge hoses on to the flexi, right next to the connector,
turn lock to lock and see if there is any movement,

Sorry, that wasn't very clear. Your wheel choice may pose mOre of q problem as the depth of the brembo caliper is quite large. So you'll need a wheel that has quite a thick hub section, or spacers. I want to run bbs rc on men, but will need almost 40mm spacers just to clear the calipers. You'll need roughly 20mm to get bk alpinas back on. Not sure on others though.
Hope that helps. Get some pics up. I've trial fitted mine a few times, but am yet to try them out fully.
Chris.

Ahhh right I got you mate..
I was going to put these 16's on that I have sat in my livingroom,

but on my first trial fit, I calculated/(guestimated)
I would need 25-30mm, poss more spacers, which is no good for me as they would stick out way to much,
so the're going back up for sale, and i'll be keeping the 17" E36 M3 replica's on for the time being,
as they fitted quite well,
well there was about half a mm gap between the calliper and the alloy,
i'll be using some 5mm spacers, to be on the safe side

I was hoping that these might fit behind Hartge 16" wheels without having to use wide spacers but after a test fit I found that I would have to use 15-20mm spacers. I don't fancy this so am going to use E34 540 calipers instead.
My E38 Brembo's are for sale here: >>clicky<< if anyone's still after a pair. I also have a set of genuine bmw pads available too.

This might sound like a complete numpty question..
but i'll ask anyway...
which way should the bleed nipples be lol at the top of the caliper or the bottom??
or does it not make a difference

If you are still using the E30 master cylinder the pedal will be longer as the caliper pistons surface area is bigger.
Ideally you would have the rear calipers and master cylinder from the same car the front calipers came from

Yeah, i'll be upgrading the rears as a rule of thumb,
So might do the master cylinder at the same time,
But the front's dont seem that different compared to the "red dot" disc's and the red stuff pads I had on, might just need to break in a bit, we'll see

Will these also be ok to use e34 540 callipers?
I have 17"alpina reps (et 20) and if I use spacers they will stick out of the arches and that's not an option with the current lowering of the car.

Thanks!
The 540i ones are single pot so that should be ok then.
But will these adapters also fit the 540i calipers?

No pics at the moment mate, calipers are off getting a freshen up. I didn't use any spacers but with a 312mm rotor I wouldn't recommend running 16s. It is a little too close for comfort to the barrel, so I'm going up to 17" Compomotive MO5's. I had probably 2-3mm max clearance to barrel, to the spokes there was plenty.craigieeb wrote:Any pics of these behind the wheels mate?cplagz wrote:I managed to fit these under 16x8 ROTA Slipstreams ET25
and did you use any spacers?

Shaz, I've got a pair of option two along with the discs (ebc) adapted ready to bolt on. They've been tried on but that's as far as I've got. I've even got some Brembo 4 pots for this conversion and the braided lines from earls. Bought all the bits etc, but then changed my mind and will be switching to 5 stud. I haven't worked out a price yet but it will just be what they owe me.
If your still looking let me know.
Cheers Chris.

Hi Guys,
I've got my complete kit up for sale, here
http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... c&t=221575
this is the option 2 adapters, Brembo 4 pots, green stuff pads, and EBC discs, already modified for a bolt on change. will come supplied with brand new earls brake lines.
Cost me over £450 to put the kit together, looking for £390.
Cheers Chris.
