Hi guys been a bit busy getting a new fixture made.
Noob there's not a lot of point going out beyond 64mm unless you are going to enlarge the inlet manifold entry. I am going to try a big one, but havn't done it yet. if it's successfull then I will be charging cosiderably more for them as it's a lot more work and hassle.
Cheers Alex
Ps) Kemlo, Scott180gtb and Sweep have PM
Edit:
Once I've received your TB, I'll PM to let you know I have it. When finished I'll get touch to arrange payment and returning it to you.
Edit 11/3/10
i) Collected the material for the new butterflies today.
ii) The bodies will now be radiused at the front, I've made a fixture and now have full CNC control of the form.
iii) westie84 has PM.

Can anyone suggest how to test if the boot lights are staying on with the boot shut?

A slight drop in low-end torque alright but the M20 has enough low end anyway to sacrifice.
The BBTB wasn't worth the original prices like 200 quid they once used sell on an exhange basis but for 60 quid, its a bargain.
Other mods like a chip, BTB, manifold, maybe cams already mentioned previously in the thread and 2.7 or 2.8 conversions will really make the BBTB show an improvement.

Two bodies are in pieces ready for machining tommorrow morning, CNC program done and tested on graphics.
I've found some razor sharp cutting inserts, so I'm hoping I may be able to achieve a bright surface finish.
IF all goes to plan then these two bodies should be finished by the end of the week.

A very specialist job, porting IMO, even more so as the stock manifold is VERY good.FMH wrote:i'm interested. i've also, just read the link about porting the inlet manifold holes. is this something you can do?

id definately fancy one of these but i havent got a spare at present. if tomson still has some what sort of price would we be talking for the 4 star service with buying one from him and him sending it up to u? lol
would be cool if i managed to get it in the motor by the 5th of june. have a RR run booked and im wanting to get as much done to the car as possible beforehand.
also is 64mm the maximum or can it safely be taken out to 65, 65.5, etc? id like to go as big as possible, even if its only an extra 0.5 over 64.

I've got a couple of spare TB's to get rid of!! Thought they were big bore, but it would appear they are standard!!
See this thread Clicky
After £25 each (including postage) by paypal and i'll get it posted out asap!!!
TB1 has the little brass pipe (which looks like it has been blocked off with a bit of tube and a bolt!!):

TB2 looks different on the bottom and doesn't have the brass pipe at all:

Drop me a pm if you want one and i'll send you my paypal address!!

is there a date by which u want to have all of the TB's with u?
additionally i have a black & decker wizard (similar to a dremel) and was thinking of smoothing/rounding the edges of the entry ports from the vacuum and ICV fittings behind the TB butterfly. additionally i will be polishing the full length of the inside of the TB once i get it back from u. dunno if there will be any noticable benefits on rounding off the edges of those wee ports but it couldnt hurt at any rate..
on a side note im also experimenting with a spare airflow meter i have. rounding off sharp edges and trying to generally smooth the path thru the meter with the wizzard and some grinding stones for it and hand sanding/polishing. also thinking about filling the hole in the top for the air temp sensor and relocating it. not sure how that will turn out tho.. could do well or could cause the car to run like a bag of spanners
