Hey

I've just read through this post - has the batch of spoilers been produced yet?

Are there any left/any plans to make some more?

Gravy,

Don't worry, you didn't miss the boat. The spoilers are still in "design development". Best to add your name to the end of the list and then hang tight!

Bmv is still working on the first batch of 10 and other batch will be made if there is still interest as some people might have changed cars etc etc since this all started and dropped out

Mine has the black rubber spoiler on the tailgate. The ones that are being made are the larger m-tec ones that can be colour coded to the car.

bmv is working on how to fit them to the car

Widge has the M-tech spoiler but it's not colour coded iirc, Davetouring's old car right?

I think mine is just a standard one now having looked at it in the daylight, I'll see what people think of these ones and may be get one when I replace the tailgate

If anyone wants one of standard rear spoilers, I have one for sale, currently on a 325i touring. No experience of tourings, how do they come off?

There are five or six plastic clips that (IIRC) are imbedded in the back of the rubber spoiler. They snap into the steel channel across the top of the tailgate. There might also be some black adhesive compound in there, too (mine had it). My spoiler needed two of us applying excessive force to pry off and broke a couple of the clips in the process. Watch your paint job!

Sort of, were talking fiberglass, but the original MTech ones(IIRC) were bigger and rubber that was then painted to match the car.

That sounds like the mtec spoiler that we are replicating see the pics on page one for the size. The original is rubber and they go on ebay for Ԛ£100+ (have seen one sold for Ԛ£137), the one we are using as a buck is one I bought of a zoner for Ԛ£110. The replicas will be fiberglass but a lot cheaper.

Getting them done is taking longer than I expected  but then I dont work with fiberglass so dont really know what goes into making a mold and producing copies although bmv has tried to educate me

Hey, all! Who wants to go to Germany?

http://cgi.ebay.de/M-Technik-2-Heckspoi ... dZViewItem

From my limited understanding of German, the seller isn't comfortable taking the M Tech spoiler off the hatch, so he's selling that as well. Pick-up in Germany only. If I wasn't halfway around the planet, I'd pick it up in a second! I'm so keen to see an M Tech spoiler on my car (or any spoiler for that matter...) :D

Any recent progress with our fibreglass project?
