Hello fellow Zoners,

Having trawled the internet and spoken with various people I have drawn a significant blank in the hunt for a set of Compomotive TH1680 Mono alloy wheels. All is not lost however...

In consultation directly with Compmotive they would manufacture a run of these alloys if there were an order of 10 sets submitted. The choice of finish and PCD can be seen on their website.

http://www.comp.co.uk/wheels/wheels.asp?range=TH_0061

The only thing that is set is the size (16x8) and the offset (et25). I have instigated this thread to firstly gauge interest and depending on the result will go back to Compomotive. I believe that they have a better chance of handling customer requirements so would look to pass on contact details to them.

Prices from the guys at Compomotive:

TH1680 in a standard colour finish £95.00 each
Th1680 polished with base colour £105.00 each
Prices will be subject to VAT and carriage if required.

These wheels have a distinct look that some find suit the E30 to a tee, particularly Ste's Touring on e3024v and the car pictured below...

Please initially register interest if you want to order a set, I shall then collate contact details and get in touch with Compomotive.

Many thanks,

Rudi.

(Found the image on google, but believe this used to be for sale on e30zone. Apologies if I have used it out of turn, please PM me if you have an issue with the photograph being used)

Sorry! Edited above, waiting for a firmer costing as they are a fan of us potentially getting together to order these...

Why don't they just do it then if they are a fan !

I would like to say I am interested but I know they ain't gonna be cheap and would like to see the bottom line on the quote first
How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

I got a quote from Compomitive yesterday for a set of 4 MO1680 7 x 16 ET20 £733 inc vat and delivery to give everyone a ball park on price. What Compomotive do is have loads of wheels on the shelf but as 'blanks' that they can machine up to what ever pcd people order. The MO1680 is a brand new wheel design and even with that they said that I'd have them on my door step within 2 weeks. They also said that they would do 'staggered' sets at no extra cost.

Those aren't bad prices, but I've got to be honest with myself, a spare £500 needs spending elsewhere on my car before I can start pimping it on some TH monos. I'm already rolling on some 16's so these are low priority compared to the bodywork the car needs as well as another 30+ BHP :)

There are only a couple of us at the moment, with another couple of maybes. If the list gets a bit longer I shall also lean on Rimstyle who occasionally put in orders...

Spread the word!

Rimstyle are advertising in VW magazine now for a 10 person list in order to place an order through Compomotive. Get in touch with Toby on 01233 503006, they will be much better suited and set up to see this through...

They're 15 inch wheels but if anyone is interested in the 16 inch version then the guys at Compomotive have pencilled in a production run for the end of November...

If this falls through, I have a nice set I'm willing to sell. They are 16x8 with a diamond cut face.

Maybe try performance alloys? I just ordered some 17x8 MO5s from them.
