I'm looking opinions on the z3 vs 'purple tag' steering racks, which is best for road, and which for track?
I've found a 2000, 1.9 Z3 breaking locally to me, but I can't convince the breaker to go and check the tag number for me... Is there a chance this vehicle would have the 2.7 turn rack?
z3 steering rack query

Looking for an answer to this one as well.... Not sure to go for a z3 rack or an e46 purple tag. 3.0 vs 2.7
Mainly well always going to be a road car..
Just want a better steering experience...
What do you guys n girls recommend

had z4 manual e46 purple tag and now got e46 m3 the z4 i would still have if it wasn,t my dailey pain in the arse parking etc but once moving 5 mph plus almost as easy as a p/s rack
but with better feel and precision
the purple tag rack was exelint on windy roads under 60 mph over that it felt to liveley or twitchey
m3 rack feels like a good compromise do miss the z4 rack though especially on motorways

perfect for that makes the car very chuckable if thats the right word
though if your just cruising would the e30 rack be just fine only felt the need for a better rack after upgrading suspension and could go round corners faster
