Hey everybody,

No flaming for me please (I'm terrible with the search function so apologies if my searching hasn't brought up what I'm looking for!)

I'm quite interested in beginning to track my car (m52 series 2 e30) however I have laying on my garage floor a z3m rear trailing arm set (with brakes and rotors) and I have a set of 97 M3 front spindles and some Lower control arms easily accessible (brought a rear ended M3 for the interior for my e46).

Now! For my question: I'm interested in hearing from anybody who has done the 5 lug swap and installed coilovers, I'm mainly doing the swap for the increase in brake size but I'm wanting the coilovers so I can fine tune the suspension, (understanding the cost related here, lets look at this as a money is no problem situation). Pro's and con's and also a list of other necessary parts I could have would be incredibly helpful to me!

Hoping the community can give me a massive hand here.

Harry

these are what I have done for 5 stud and bigger brakes.
at the front
*e36 325i front hubs discs and rebuilt calipers.
*e36 coilovers with e30 camber/caster adjustable top hats.
*e36 m3 front control arms with ne bushes
*21mm swaybar with new bushes and swaybar links.
*tree house racing offset mounts

at the rear
*e30 subfrmae.
*e36 ti rear control arms with e36ti discs and calipers.
*gaz coilovers with damper ajust.

it all just bolted in so once you get all the parts your good to go.

as for the springs I cant help yet as im still building mine and will have to do a lot of testing to find oit what rates to go with.

cheers

First of all thanks for the reply.
I'll be using the m3 gear due to already having it but it's nice to know I could go about doing it with other parts.

Have you driven on this setup yet? How did you find it?

Cheers

Mine is similar to the above except I used e36 compact coilovers and the e36 m3 EVO front hubs and brakes with e30 m3 eccentric bushes. Found that even with the camber plates there wasn't much scope for negative camber so I spaced out the bottom of the hub with stainless washers which gives me about -3 degreesin the middle with about +/- 1.5 degrees from the plate.
