Does any one know of anywhere to get a good quality rebuild kit for Borg warner turbos?
Or even just oil seals?

its not a rebuild kit but shows promise that they stock such things- only thing I've bought directly from them was an actuator

But i'm probably just going to send mine off to be rebuilt,
I noticed it was blowing oil/smoke on the overrun just after boost the other day,
so i've just pulled it off, and there's a fair bit play in the shaft, but no oil in the inducer side
i've never rebuilt one to date, so i'll leave it to the guys who know what their doing

We used them for quite a few turbos at my old place. Never had any issues at all.craigieeb wrote:Have you used these at all fella?maxfield wrote:AET turbos.

And the company my boss used to work for they supplied turbos for them too, which generally involved drag cars.

Not fully, I think I caught it just in time,ross2009 wrote:that turbo fooked already craig ?
it was blowing on the overrun, so i pulled it for inspection,
found a bit play in the shaft, there's no damage to any of the fin's or the housing
so thats a good sign.
but tbh, I thought it would of lasted a bit longer than it has,
might just be a weak bearing that needs upgrading to a stronger/billet type...?

It is a bit of a kick in the balls,
but I suppose it could of been worse,
at least it didn't explode at 6000rpm in 5th, in the middle of nowhere lol

It's been just shy of 3 years since I bought it,
Not that it's had 3 years of use, its not a daily and is tucked away as soon as the gritters make an appearance,
The warranty I'm sure was only for a year, I did get paperwork with it, but can't fooking find it!!!
I'm going to strip the engine to the bare bones, just to make sure there was nothing on that side that caused it,
But going on first looks,
The center bearing has cracked causing the excess movement, that's fooked everything else.
Time for the mighty holset HX40 I reckon.
