Currently building a SC'd M52.
I'm looking for an ECU which has to have at least two separate switchable maps, and retain Vanos control.
I'll be using a wideband o2 and map sensor.
Some input would be great!
Cheers

Hi there, sounds like a cool project.
We use the Emerald m3d k6 ECUs here, great units with very good support. The best part is it's one box, you don't need to pay for add ons, different drivers or PCBs, one price does it all. You will need the sensors to send the signals to the box too but this is the same as any stand alone ECU.
The Emerald can carry 3 different maps that can be swapped on the fly while driving, or you can use a lock out switch if you wanted to have a 3k rpm rev limiter as a "valet" mode, just so any one with it in their possession does not get the full gravy
Vanos control can be done, no issues.
I would not suggest using a stand alone without a wideband, not a great idea. Having one means the ECU can learn a basic fueling map. and can run a closed loop system where it adjusts mixture according to the O2 reading, very handy.
Don't get any of the Innovate lambda sensors, get one from a company called Tech-edge, its a much better piece of kit.
Hope that helps a bit

Cheers for the input!
Would love an Emerald, but sadly a touch over budget...

Vems sounds promising, if you could that'd be great cheers...ross_jsy wrote:VEMS is well priced and has the features you are after if you specify them. Gunni supplies a plug and play unit and it's very nice. I can send you his email if you want.
