Hello.

Currently building a m50 turbo smooth bay. Build thread is on here.

Struggling to find a intercooler to fit behind a prefacelift bumper. Also struggling with the pipe work.

Can anyone share any advise or pictures of their setups? Regardless of engine etc

thanks

hey thanks man. Had a flick through there a few times, no one with a pre facelift though. The lower valance is just way too tight to the bumper it seems.

i went under i made some simple mounts on the base and essential a giant grub screw for the top - its a saab 9000 one, i recently got an identical all metal abbot racing one for £35 so that will go in the same place

i went under the lower valance both side - by the belts on the engine side and through the chassis (cut the circular bung out) the chassis on the passenger side

initially i made some crappy steel mandrels, connected with silicones but have know bought a generic ebay aluminium kit. Just for the bends as its cheaper than getting individual parts - keep the tubes smaller will lower the lag

Saab or Volvo 740/760 unit should be slim enough

Other options are fit one horizontally and dust some air too it, RX7 and Supra style iirc

some trimming required but it will go in

My cab is pre facelift and I made some mounts, cut a section out of the front panel for it and it fits perfect.
Got the mtec bumper on it now and it sits right behind the grills and about 1.5 inches above the bottom of the bumper so perfect
