Garage build with 2 poster advice

Hi fellow zoners,
I’m planning to build a garage for nursing my e30’s.
Would like to be able to fit two cars lengthways which means I would need minimum 9meters long to accommodate.
My garden is thin and long 150ft approx and 14ft wide at narrowest point.
Without planning permission I can build upto 30sqm which would be 4.2 x 7.1m with a max height of 2.5m.
Ideally would like to have a two poster and go bigger at 45 sq meters 4m high with a dual pitched roof but this would mean going through planning application.
I live in Bromley, Kent borders of London anyone have any advice on doing something similar or where to start etc.

I wouldnt be too worried about breaking the rules a little bit, government and councils continually prove this is ok!
A large door front and back is ideal, if you build to allowance and fit a canopy to extend you could then build up the sides of the canopy with a 'temporary structure' which would give you a lot more space once the door is open

No planning application means 2.5m high = no 2 poster
The temporary structure is a good idea to extend working area.
Wondering if anyone else done this before

Have a look at twinbush as they do a low level two post ramp designed for low garages, better than nothing but bare in mind that two post ramps take up a lot of width. You may be better off with a decent recessed scissor lift. Just make sure the base slab is thick enough to support a ramp when you lay it.

2 years later I would hope he would have it built by now

Recently picked up some 'quickjacks', for me they are a good solution, they get the car high enough to work on the wheels and brakes, give good access to the centre of the car at a good height with a floor creeper. You can use them in the garage or put them in the car to use out and about or at a track and they hang on the wall when not in use.

Pretty sturdy in use but I always sling a wheel or axle stand under anything I am working on

They are not cheap but compared to a 2 or 4 post lift they are good value and safer than jackstands

I went for the 7000TL as it gives a good 2 foot lift and can cope with my 4x4.

The 7000 is not as 'portable' as the smaller ones as they are a fair weight but works well for what I need

Yes it will work fine but bit like a sledgehammer to crack a nut, unless you need 3 tons of lift I would use one of the lighter ones and save your back moving them about.

The only caveat is it is obviously only designed to lift when parallel normally on the pinch welds. If Your E30 is a bit crusty or weak on the pinch welds it won't lift on the usual front chassis rails/rear subframe mounts without modification as that puts the lifts at an angle.

They do a cross beam that would solve the problem (or I think a good plank of wood would work on an E30) but you lose the unrestricted middle access.
