I check my oil at least twice a week and she hardly uses any..............so I thought!!
My yellow oil light came on yesterday after I had stopped for the shop and went off moments later when I set off again, so I put 3/4 litre in when I got home.
This morning was fine so I thought all sorted but it happened just seconds after I set off home from work today and again after the stop at the shop.
I put 3/4 of a litre more in and then realised the bit of the dip stick to the right of the picture has moved to the top of the stick.
I am now looking for a new stick but the question is............would this give me a dodgy reading of oil level??
Cheers
Mart.

The upper parts regularly come free and go for a walk up the stick, I would buy a new one, you need it to be reliable
