E28 520i 87 mileometer not working

Trip meter and mileometer have stopped , i think it comes from the back of the diff but does anyone know where it goes from there please , is there a secret fuse anywhere or a plug along the way? Any help will be much appreciated.

Its the plastic cogs in the meter , very easy to change
