Hi,

my mates 740iL goes into limp home mode when he floors the accelerator.

Any ideas to point him in the right direction?

the fault codes say Vanos and cam sensor...

there's you answer then get a new sensor and get someone who knows what they are doing to sort the vanos

ECU uses the cam sensor to see what the vanos is up to, so that may be a spurious code.
