im just wiring a temp gauge and want to source the switched live of the ignition wiring on the columm... can anyone give me info to whitch is a non perminant live... cheers gra

It would help if you said which BMW model you are dealing with, but generally the first switch position makes purple wires live live, and the second position makes green wires live as well.

You posted in the wrong section! This is the "tech. help" for any BMW other than an E30.
The colours still generally apply throughout the whole car, even when they have a different colour tracer. Red is for permanent live, and white is also switched ignition.
