What can go wrong with e36 convertible leccy roofs? Kind of tempted by a local offering but the leccy roof doesn't work.

Seller claims it simply needs resetting....if that's the case why hasn't he done it himself as it looks a piece of pish from various searches on the net. I'm suspicious.....anyone know more about what can wrong and hassle/cost of sorting any issues?

The tension straps stretch which allow it to go out of sync after several roof cycles. Fixing it correctly is boring but there is a move using stretchy string :)
These cars are really on the floor now price wise so it better be cheap !

It's not at a price I'll be paying yet but as it's MOT ran out the other day he might drop a fair bit now. I've not seen it in the flesh yet so it could yet turn out to be the typical Scotch rusty turd you love so much. :)
