I dont no much about atuo boxes but was wandering if my car would be a 3 or 4 speed and would it have a oil filter in it if so would anyone know where i could get on please

Hi Mathew, only just read you post, I've been reading about auto trans on the 318i tonight and it says it is a four speed For your year of car ?The filter for the transmission fluid is in the oil pan of the gearbox, hope this helps but I expect it's to late ...!

Yes should be a ZF 4hp22 box I believe.
