Anyone bought a cheap code reader?????

Anyone bought one of these and actually got it working???
Wasted £20 on one so far - seller has stopped responding to me now!
Shows up on the laptop when I plug it in and now have no errors against the scanner or the com port, but running the software still tells me drivers are not installed and it won't run!!!!!
Any ideas???

that wont work on e30. as they are pre 96. they are obd1 or ADS what ever than is.?
not like most cars are obd2.

if you do a search on bimmer uk web, there are some older post on there.
but i can,t get the soft ware to work and dont want to spend the money on an interface if its not going to work.

3 options i,ve looked at with our success are
peak code reader , but i think its only For USA MODELS

AUTOCOM , To usb modern lap top N0t sure how that set up works

use and older lap top with a serial pot ( modern ones dont have it ) and windows 95 ( inpa edasdias ?

IF you do find a way i,ll be very interested how ?

I believe only the later e30,s monotronic 1.1 and 1.3 are capable of storing codes anyway. and i,m not sure if you get live data or beable to activate components to them run.
late 80,s was were early days for this technology. of scanners and code readers
