(The mrs ) ;)z3 has developed a slight problem when starting,it will fire up then die, then will take about 10 seconds to start.
Now this only happens once or twice a day,im sure i can smell petrol aswell when this happens.

Does this sound like a cps problem?

I've got a m44 318is which as i type has the inlet removed awaiting a new camshaft sensor

the engine will run without a cam sensor but very lumpy, but not without the crankshaft sensor- my advice is get the codes read and go from there as it could be lots of things

(you can manually test the sensors resistance between pins but they are annoyingly placed under the inlet, crank sensor resistance is 540 and the cam is 1280 )

checking for airleaks, good spark plugs and basics is always worth a try
