I had my ZF 4HP22 in my E30 rebuilt by Stephens Engineering about 14 years ago. They used to on the North Circular near Palmers Green then but have now moved to Ware in herts. They came highly recommended . They did the job to a high standard and came with a warranty. I have had no issues since the rebuilt.
Usually what kills the ZF 4HP22 autobox is idelling or revving the engine whilst in P or N for long time.
