Good morning people. My electric windows don’t work and the guy looking at it for me says the wiring is in very bad condition.
I’m after both door looms but also the part it joins to which possibly is dashboard loom.
It’s a 1989 318i 2 door. Does anyone have anything please?
Thanks

A pillar door loom sockets are part of the body loom and central locking loom. No connection to the dash loom.
What does he mean by 'bad condition'? If it's corrosion of the pins in the A pillar connectors that's the problem, the pins and buckets are standard items, available from the likes of RS components or CPC Farnell.

That’s excellent thank you.
Do you know what pins I would need to order from RS for the door? I don’t know if that’s a very broad question

Best I can do is this: https://www.e30zone.net/e30wiki/index.php?title=C40x
Gives you the BMW part numbers, and, in the links right at the bottom, the part numbers from a Polish equivalent of RS.
Note that on the driver's side A pillar socket there are two red/black wires going to two different pins in the socket. The two red/black wires should be cut from the socket and joined together. This will greatly reduce future corrosion in the connector, as will fitting the rubber covers on the plugs correctly. They must be completely refitted BEFORE the plug is pushed into the A pillar socket.
Edit: These may be the ones. Compare yours with the dimensions given in the data sheets. https://cpc.farnell.com/c/cable-leads-c ... r-contacts
