I Very nearly bought one of these back in 04. I looked at a few which were all seriously rusty turds. I was offered Tony Hadleys Black 230CE which he bought new in 83 on the success of Spandau Ballet. But as it was only the lowly 230, I turned it down.

One things for certain, they have appreciated / firmed up on price more than the 325i e30 convertible I plumped for instead :(
The positive of that fact though, is that I wouldn't have met you lot!!! Hang on, IS that a positive thing????? :?

I like that a lot! although, if I was armed with that sort of cash it would probably get overlooked by something else.

Been there and done it, all be it with a 230TE shooting brake costing £450 :D Spent 6 months driving up and down to Carlisle in it though and was faultless, in fact the final trip saw me get from Maryport to Swindon in 2 1/5 hours  Early hours of the morning I should add and boy did it drink a drop of petrol 8O
Epic rotten turd, but I loved it

I have one, ran it as a daily for a year and it does feel pretty cool sitting behind all that bonnet and the three pointed star. That and the E30 are both cars I can't see myself getting rid of for a long time. They do struggle to crack 20mpg but that's not really the point
