Looking at buying one of these, 06 plate.

Audi A4 Avant 2.0T S Line.

Anyone had any experience with these audi estates? Any common problems, running faults that people know about?

Been to drive one and loved it, great feel and pretty quick compared to my 46 which i am selling.

Any advice much appreciated.

A good of mine runs a 07 2.0T sline SE which he has owned from new, it's a saloon rather than a avant. 140k miles to date but services religiously. No issues other than the usual serviceable items such as brakes, belts etc.

It's worth paying the extra for a fully Audi serviced car that's been looked after as he has heard of some horror stories of huge bills when not maintained correctly.

Having driven it myself It is very quick, comfy and the boss audio system is exceptionally good.

It is thirsty when driven hard though.

Thanks for the reply mate, I too have read some of the horror stories online about belts breaking and that. Its the only thing putting me off at the moment.

The car i have been looking at is spec'd up fully and has full audi service history. 69000 miles. Its up for 8 and a half which is a good price but the garage and salesmen seem a bit iffy to me. Just need to decide whether to take the plunge or not. It drives great and seems sound but you just never know.

I did notice that the engine sounds quite like a diesel with the bonnet up a bit clicky in tone but i read online thats normal for these injected engines?

Thanks

Avoid at all costs both the 2.0TDi and the Multitronic automatic box. Both are guaranteed multi thousand pound failures/repairs before 100'000 miles. As a car, the B5 and B7 A4's are nice cars.
