Brings back memories of late 80's Lombard RAC rallys.
These and Whaltale Cosworths and Celica GT4's

It does indeed. It was early 90's for me though and the 4x4 sapphires were in by then.capri_rob wrote:Brings back memories of late 80's Lombard RAC rallys.

Good times in the scottish forests!....a bit nippy mind.
Shame when they were driven hard they used to crack between the top of the A pillar and the roof , If you were ever to buy one you had to peek under the roof lining
Took a mate to see one about 6 years ago and i though wtf is he doing till i saw the crack
He ended up buying a yellow evo 2 from spain and drove it home , Lucky git !

Giggety Giggety Goo!!!
i really badly miss my 16v.
it was a cheap shed, but nothing else ive driven comes close. perfect in every way, (except corrosion resistance and big end strength maybe
) it just felt so capable, and so alive. one of the few cars around than makes an e30 m3 feel a bit numb and a bit too sensible.
i'd love another, but good rust free evos have gone a bit e30 m3 pricewise so i'll probably never own another
mine was a 16v, chipped to 260bhp + 275lb/ft, on konis, big brakes and 17in compomotive MOs.

Spun a bigend, and the cost to repair it properly just wasn't worth it as the rest of it was patched and rotten. As it wasn't an evo it would only have been worth 5-6k if totally mint.
I paid 2750 for it, got 5 years use, (3 of those as my daily driver) broke it for parts and have had nearly £3.5k back from it so far and still have most of the running gear!
The MOs are hidden away for a rainy day, and the standard wheels are on the mrs' golf.
cheers,
harry

While on the subject of Lancia's, going a bit OT though sorry, has anyone seen the new Stratos? http://www.new-stratos.com/en/#
Almost bought an Evo2 a couple of years ago but theyre either shite or millions nowadays. Agree with the 3 door Cosworth, would love a moonstone blue one - almost bought one when I was 20 after owning a Sapph but bought my first E30 instead.
