Noticed these are getting affordable - anybody know much about them? I've seen a few in the 4-5k price range that look ok. And I would like an Alfa...

Only ever been a passenger in one and its a nice place to be. Have been told that cambelt \ chain changes are a pig to do and expensive at a garage. Personally waiting till the Brera comes down into this price range to have as a weekend toy.

GT's are based on the 156 and 147 (same doors!). Cambelts are a pig on the 2.4JTD, not bad on the 2.0 but you need the special tool to adjust the balance shaft belt. They like to use oil and iirc don't have a sump level sensor so you need to be on the ball and check the oil regularly. They drive quite well.

The Brera feels heavy and has too many GM bits (the engine for example) to be a 'proper' Alfa, whatever that is.
