I own a 1966 Ford Anglia van powered by a two litre Zetec. (Hence my name). It has Jenvey throttle bodies controlled by a Megasquirt ECU. When it was rolling roaded, it produced 153bhp at the flywheel (I can't find the graph so can't post the torque figure). The 0-60 time is 7 seconds with a top speed of 112mph (It only has four gears!)

Other mods: 3.54 Quiafe LSD, Panhard rod, coilovers, adjustable TCAs, Escort RS Turbo brakes.

Cheers guys. It's fun to drive and can embarrass modern cars. Including an E36 M3 driver who was caught napping at the lights...

Old Fords never die eh :)

Love Anglia's, I always remember as an apprentice my Tech on road test commenting how fast the new [at the time] 5 cyl inj Audi 100 was when this Ford Anglia in grey primer pissed past us :D

Saw it painted up the next month at a show it had a small block Chevy lump in it :D

I see you're from Bradford, are you in the same circles as Jason Thompson? I'm sure he's into Anglias?

Ah yes, I know Jason. He lives at the opposite side of town to me but we do frequent the same forum and go to the same shows.

Don't suppose you know anyone in Bradford or Leeds that does rechroming?

I've known Jason about 10 years, he works for our facility management company.

No I can't think of anyone. I've never had to have anything re-chromed.

Jason seems to get a new anglia every few months!

It's kinda getting close to seeing some action now. I know the engine is well on the way to being built. It will deffo be getting some track time. Unfortunately no ones been able to get hold of George Whitehead. The car was a legend back in the day! Even in the last few events it was giving a kicking to the newer Escorts at Brands and the likes.

Can"t beat a sorted old ford :D , prices on these are sky high if you can find a good one .I saw the prices of sorted mk 1 / 2 escort vans a while back ££££££££ . Had one a fair few years back subtly modded ,if only some c**t hadn"t run into the back of it and destroyed it,

Yeah, Anglia Vans and two door escorts can fetch silly money. My mate recently bought a totally original ex-MOD two door Mk2 Escort 1100 (complete with old dent in the front wing) for about £6k. He's since swapped the drum brakes for wilwoods and fitted recaro fishnets and a juicy two litre pinto, but kept the bodywork standard. Complete with old dent.

A mate of mines dad is building and Anglian van at the moment.

Yours looks very cool.

I'm guessing the engine is standard minus the throttle bodies?
