I think you only have to see how many are left on the roads compared to an e34 to answer that Mo. The Senator before the Omega, I had a hand in a few and they were not a patch on the Granadas or 5 series in build quality. The Omegas seemed to disappear even quicker off the roads

I hate Vauxhall shite but Senators appeal as do Lotus Carltons.

I had a 99 2.5V6 manual as a company car, took it from 60k to 140k. Magnificent car, loved it to bits. Bulletproof, went sideways nicely, cheap as chips to run bar fuel.
Mate has an '02 3.0 Auto Elite. Again, nice enough car, but the 4 speed autobox is horrid and fragile.
I'd have a late, cheap mid-spec manual V6 again but I think an early Auto Elite is just asking for a world of gearbox and electrical problems. One positive though, I doubt you'd have to pay more than £250 for one.
Martin.

Lots of bikes, the odd modern BMW, and now an 88 e30 335i Cab project with E32 running gear

Most 3.0 omegas are raped of there engines for the vectras b`s
Maybe its because they go for peanuts andf its a cheap upgrade
I dont like the drive of a omega either
I know its rwd but would rather have a 5 series if im honest
Problem with the omegas/vectras are they rust bloody quickly especially the rear arches

A lot of fairly late luxury for a bag?

My old man loved his 2.5 v6 omega and I gotta be honest I considered one at one point. He had it kitted out with covert lights and sirens to do response work for what was then Kent Ambulance. Was still going strong for a few years after in spite of doing 110k in 3 years

i used to ferry hire cars around the country and the elite was top of the range for the company then. was an ok drive new and when you are 19 was pretty quick too.
every trip, 5 blokes all fighting over the elite for the trip back instead of a sad 1.3 astra made for some interesting arguments.

A couple of my mates had 3.0 Senators a few years back - good motors back in the day but there's virtually none left now. The 24v's were a proper weapon
Omega's never did anything for me - thought they had a really bad rep for electrical issues as well as bland engines and generally shyte build quality ?

Thing is the 3.0 omega is over 200bhp and will do 150mph
With a few mods a few guys have them running nearer 240-250bhp
My vec aint slow , Its just lazy in going anywhere bit like the omegas
But 70mph upwards there quite impressive
Thing is there a big lazy lump with a mahoosive flywheel

The Opals had an Lotus Omega and the Vhuaxalls had the Lotus Carlton?
I think the Lotus Carlton did 180+mph , which when you see the price of some of them like trev said , that a quick car for sod all!

Good god , that car looks very tired and yeah £16k is insaine. You could get a really nice M5 with the FBMWSH .
But the 80's did produce some true legends , the Metro 6R4 and the Ford RS200 were two of my personal favs and Of course the M3 , oh lets not forget the 190 Cosworth.

Can't really understand why anyone would buy an Omega now when if you need that size saloon late E34's are available for peanuts and are a million times better screwed together than any vauxhall has ever been - OK they're early 90's rather than late 90's but a much better bet than some GM turd
