Everyone has to have an Italian car in their life at some point Si. Some "get it", others don't. Me? It was Fiat 131's and Lancia Beta Coupes back in the early 80's. I did it and got it out of my system but if I had a dream fleet now? A 131 Sport Mirafiori in Orange would be in it.
I like these Alfas. The only thing I'd say it that the semi autos are allegedly a bit "chad valley". But what you got to lose? And it may help you regain the mojo on the C2.

Alfas are great cars if you buy one with a long MOT for under a grand and buy In the knowledge that you will have to mend things as and when they break which they will.
I loved my 156 for the 9 months or so I had it, it never broke down, wasn't too bad to work on and the engine was lovely especially above 3500 rpm but at less than £1000 I didnt mind spending a few quid getting it sorted.
Good as it looks at 8 bags you'll be crying into your beer the first time you get a big bill, the depreciation will be savage and you'll have a very limited market when you come to sell it on.

I had a Lancia Beta Spider, I owned it for about 3 hours, I towed it around 150 metres from the sellers house before abandoning it, it was falling apart as I towed it. I left it there and never went backB7 wrote: Lancia Beta Coupes back in the early 80's.

X5 V8 for thrills, CRV for chills, Range Rover P38 V8 for sooooo much aggravation...

Ha! You will be reverting to a push bike after several repairs on one of these turds, theyre like an expensive french car, but worse
What is there to "get" Trev? Apart from skinned knuckles, wrists, forearms and elbows along with an empty wallet, development of tourettes, a divorce and a passport to anger management?

I was looking at getting a 166 as a daily a few months back. I like the look of then, and found plenty of sub 1k stuff on the web.
What's not to like about Alfa interiors! 164's are mostly scrapped now so you won't find many.
I test drove a 146 gta about 5 years back. Looked great and went like fuck.

The momo leather seats as in the car in the OP are superb - the leather is far nicer than the plasticky crap you get in an E46

For maximum Italian interior win, it needs to be a Lancia Trevi thoughjonb wrote: What's not to like about Alfa interiors!

For an example of how 164s don't age well there's one at the bottom of brockley / honor oak near the tyre shop on brockley rise. It's past its prime shall we say.
As for the 166 - always been very tempted - especially in the dark blue colour they sometimes come in.

The one in the link is the facelift version and they're mega rare. Best place to find one for sensible coin is at a big car auction like BCA or Mannheim. I can't imagine one would make much over a grand. 156's are worth fuck all as well. A late 2005 2.5 V6 is under a grand.

I've got a bit of an itch for an Alfa, I was actually considering a 159 before I bought my e90. I'd also love to own a 155 12v v6 just for the noise really, but they seem to be gaining some kind of cult status now and I don't want one badly enough to pay proper money! My money would go into a 147 gta before any manner of R32 or S3-esque vag boremobile!
