Got issues with an old 2000 focus... tyres rarely seem to hold air - in fact I think just one front tyre holds it's pressure at the mo!!!
Due to various punctures, etc, I've been through 6 part-worns I think in the last year!!!
That and the low mileage done in this car, massively puts me off spending on new tyres - but maybe they'd last longer???
I've been pretty much blaming the random part worns for not holding air, but the rears are always the worst!!!
Having looked around for some more 205/50/16's, most used tyres places don't seem to have that size to hand!!!
The place I went to today though, seemed to think it was probably an issue with the rims rather than the tyres and recommended some form of tyre seal to try and rectify the problem!!!
If they were new tyres, I would've gone for it, but a £20 a corner to seal some part worns that were only £30 each, I can't really decide what to do!!!
Try another pair of part worns on the rear? Seal the ones on there?
Anyone had this problem and had a tyre seal done???

You need to take it somewhere that actually knows how to fit a tyre. Most places will chuck bead sealer on and throw the tyre on.
When I do a tyre or a puncture, if the rim is bad I will clean it with a knotted wheel on the grinder, make sure it's a nice surface and use a bit of bead sealer. Never had any issues.

I did wonder if it was these cheap back street tyre places not giving a **** that could be the problem!!!
I suppose thats what you get for a £25/£30 tyre with no receipt!!!
I'll pop down to my usual place when I get a chance, (wasn't in the area earlier!!!) and see what they say!!!

Actually sounds like the alloys to me. If you decide to get it sealed properly at a decent place and it fails again you could go back to the same place and they will proably give you another go for free. But it's all accademic in my opinion, sounds like you need the alloy/s fixed.

Went down to my normal tyre place where they know what they're doing!!!
One tyre did have a nail hidden in it that I didn't spot - the other was indeed a flat spot on the rim!!!
They've hammered it out a bit for me and sealed the tyre back on and all seems ok at the mo!!!
I've always got my eye on eBay for a set of wheels with reasonable tyres anyway!!!

"a flat spot on the rim!!! "
There you go, exactly what gave me the same problems you are having. And, so was also a nail in mine (but that was a red-herring cos the rim was also not straight).
