Hi all..

After a few E30s (and a few more to break).. I decided to move on.. that yielded my E46 330i vert:

We also had a small project too:

that was unfortunately written off for us on the way back froim the London to Brighton Mini run:

although the plan is to get this re-shelled and back on the road for next years run :)

Just over 2 years ago.. myself and my better half had another addition to the family.. a great little lad we named Charlie.. but the rear seats where too moulded to accept a child seat, so I looked around to trade it in for something more family orientated. This took me around a few dealerships looking for a <40k ~08 plate Range Rover Sport.. but Clare convinced me that as she had a 61 plate VW Touran, we didn't need another big motor, so I was persuaded to "get something fun!".

I trawled the 'trader for some motors and Clare decided she'd help, and bingo. We went to SMC Ford for a test drive and I was told "we're just looking today!"... we both had a drive, and as soon as we got back, Clare was practically asking where we sign!

£24k and 3 days later.. we rolled home in a Blue Oval.. 10 plate, 3,600 miles on the clock.. fits a child seat in no problem with ISOfix fittings and Charlie loves it (go su'erfast bang pop Daddy!). It's now sitting at a few miles over the 20k mark and has been a lot of fun, short of a cat-back Mongoose system and a decat, it's still standard, but aiming towards 400bhp which should still be reliable enough to keep it as my daily:

We also traded the Touran in in March now that Charlie is a bit bigger and we need less stuff for a Golf, which apart from the automatic emergency (for no reason!) braking system, Clare loves.

I still turn and smile when I see a decent E30 rolling past. Actually stopped (on foot) to have a look around a gorgeous looking cab the other day parked up. As nice as modern motors are, I'm still heavily fond of the classics.. and the E30 IMO, is one of the all time classics for me :D

Cheers..

Ian
