Towing car with 1800-2000kg towing capacity?

Anyone got any recommendations for a tow car with a big enough towing capacity to deal with my homemade type car transport trailer and e30 325i race car for under £3000 and not a 4x4, Land rover/chelsea tractor?

Would imagine car and trailer combined would be around 1500kg? So needs to have a bigger towing capacity.

E39 estate or Merc 210 estate. Both have self levelling rear suspension , lots of engine options and are cheap.

BMW e39 touring, can tow 2000kg's.

Home made trailer will be illegal soon, if it isn't already unless its been inspected and plated with weight limits?
