mk 1 Escort prices

i had a mk1 rs2000 (a genuine avo car) many long years ago, ..... but everytime i parked it some fookin c*nt would steal it! the last time it went i got 1500 out the insurance firm. be worth more like 10 times that nowadays.
id love another but no way would i part with the money they sell for!

I paid £150 for an n/s RS one and £200 for an o/s RS one.......in 1993! Both new and un-used.I thought that was expensive back then.

log book value id say, the prices of these have gone daft now though, IMO they are a great fun car to be driven, not a garage queen, which with the pirces they ave fetched is the destiny of most.

i did see a nice Mk1 driving through Wolverhampton on saturday though

A local car/motorhome dealer has recently acquired one to restore (yellow Mexico with the 1600 crossflow). He reckons it'll be worth £20K+ once done up...

The only saving grace of such high prices is that more will get restored and better looked after, rather than being ragged about and left to rot like they used to be.
