The 2.3 was supposed to be a rival of the e30 M3 I'd say getting parts would be nightmarish and I've been told doesn't hold a candle to the M3 at all. On the other hand the 2.5 diesel is supposed to be bullet proof

I like the non amg 190e's and the ce class coupes (pillerless
the 2.3 was actualy tuned done at and by cosworth, the 2.5 by mercedes, they say the 2.3 is better, and also the LHDs are better due to the manifold on side of the engine
