engine
gearbox
ecu
ews & key
as much of the original car loom as you can get
i believe you'll need the instrument cluster, incase you need the ews/key recoded.
'fly by wire' throttle
and then i would grab a few other things to make your conversion a little easier, like,
exhaust manifolds/ oxygen sensors (there's four of them)
front half of the prop inc rubber guibo.
a read through this thread may reveal a part or two that i have missed
hope this helps

i read this topic 5 times
what do you think, is worth the hassle to mount the s62? any major setback's? this topic isnt't really a step by step guide how to instal s62 in e30 .... but it helps

Cor. I was just about to say, you still fluffing around with this crap engine Glenn
Personally i think all BMW engines are crap and the only way forward is a twin turbo Lada engine like they have here in Borat land
Goodness i think i've been here too long

I've just finished reading this thread, and I was wondering if it was worthy of a sticky? Mainly because it's epic, and there's quite a bit of useful info in here, even if an S62 swap is quite rare...
I know I've missed the boat a little bit, but I'd also like to say that this was an incredible feat! It's definately something I'll save and look upon for inspriation in the future.

I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure...

Just checked back here, after having been away for awhile; those photos look good.uvels wrote:here is pictures of e30 m3 with e39 M5 engine inside whitch is made in latvia, guy make it 3 years ago and all works perfect, after he sell this car to ukraina and how i know its still running wery good

Do you happen to anymore info on that project, just out of interest? I had heard of this project (or one like it) in Latvia, but finding photos or anything else about proved difficult. Unless I was just looking in the wrong place.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure...

Sadly, I think this is the last we'll here about this particular conversion. The OP said that he sold the engine and the rest of the kit he made.e30bmlover wrote:shit man... iv just seen this thread... this car is going to be a @ucking animal when its done!! and done in the right colours too!! wow!.....this thread just refuses to 'rest in peace'
the m5 v8 has long gone, along with all that i had to make it fit.
the m3 is now fitted with a 3.2 evo lump and i'm currently enjoying racking up the miles in it.
http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... c&t=101172
the car is no slouch, with 320ish bhp it was allways going to pop along, and to be honest i think this engine is better suited to this car,
but,
i do kinda miss the outright grunt of that m5 v8 though
with my driving style though, i dont know if i could of afforded the fuel to enjoy putting miles on it.
but who knows what the future holds.............................

It sounded like a fairly epic project, one that I'd possibly to take on myself (if I'm ever fortunate to have that kinda cash spare!). There seemed to be quite a bit of useful info in your thread, Glenn, so that was mainly why I brought it back from the dead.
I hope you're enjoying your M3; if there's room for a supercharger, that might be an easier route to the extra torque/power that you desire, but I'm guessing I don't need to tell you that.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure...

I'd use custom made all aluminium radiator double the thickness of standard e28 535 radiator, otherwise same sized.Sharo wrote:Hello,

Germans have used e28 radiators on almost all of their conversions, but i think it's bit too small.
E34 / E39 V8 radiators would be big enough but they're little bit too wide to E30..
