all i can suggest is to go and have a mooch in your local breakers yard
(one of my pastimes

just ran out the garage (and it's pi$$ing down), to see if i could measure mine, but i'm in clean clothes and need to lye on the floor to do it,
so i'll measure them when i get home from work tomorrow for you.
as i think they are very close to the measurments you require.

i measured those rubber mountings andy,
with the weight of the gearbox on them,( very slightly compressed),
they are 35mm long, approximately 2" diameter with 13mm nuts on each end.
dont know if that helps?

threw some more petrol in her today,
so that i could have a play up and down the drive.
last time i used it on the drive, i hadn't finished the brakes.
i've 'tucked' up the wires going to the exhaust sensors (5 of them)
was only using tick-over for a while,
the one time i just lightly touched the throttle it left two black marks!
there's just so much torque.
i can see the problem with this car is going to be keeping the back wheels
turning at the same speed as the fronts.
if i put the front of the car up against the garage wall, then release the clutch slowly, it just turn's the wheels with no change in tone from the engine.
we're taking it out for a little trial on friday, i hope it all holds together.

Hi Glenn, I'm new here but a nototious BMW-fan in the Netherlands.
Love what you did and lots of respect.
Next thing for me: I have the same plan to do my e30 too. Also an e39 M5 conversion.
Difference ofcourse will be left hand driving. Do you have a list of things you changed to fit everything? That might include electric scheme and other stuff. If you do, could you help me out and send me an e-mail with the info? I would appreciate it very much. Me and my e30-friends are trying to set up a e30 club in Holland.
My e-mail adress: m5power@xs4all.nl
Thanks!!!
Greetings from Holland,
Paco, an e30-freak.

I did, with full interests and attention...
I found a complete M5 in Germany with some bodyword damaged...
probably will buy that one and strip it, sell the useless stuff and keep it affordable.
My regular BMW-dealership is being a big help with M5-data too, against all expectations...
Good luck with fine-tuning your '350i'!

took the 350i out for it's first shakdown this evening.
shame about the weather here, it's been hammering down all day, and didn't let up while we were out.
we were only out for half hour or so but f**k me its fast.
i couldn't get traction even in third, just spinning the wheels off the throttle.
got a couple of niggley things to get sorted by next weekend.
the sound was awesome.
it was only when we were out that we realised we didn't take the camera.
look out llandow.
a day later and i still can't get this grin off my face
i was strugling to keep it in a straight line in third.
the road we were on wasn't really long enough to get any higher gears,
mind you 6-7000rpm in third must of been a fair few knots,up hill over a crest it was leaving the ground.
and popping flames as i was changing gears.
before i changed the battery last week, i left it without power to the ecu for too long, now the ecu is learning again and it wont tickover properly.
hope i can sort it by next weekend

First of all,

I actually joined this forum because of it..
and i even finished reading all the 17 pages.
That's a really cool build and good luck with it.
Is that engine an aluminiumblock or steel?
How much heaver is it than a straight 6? and if anyone know how the 4 litre V8 is weightwise compared to this engine and the straight 6 i'd be grateful..
have fun with your build. it's gonna be

and btw, it sounds grrrrrreat

This is a mad conversion, and you have to let me know when and where the test is going to take place, just finished reading all 17 pages, and i must see this car in action, i witnessed an E30 M3 with a B10 Bi Turbo engine pass every car in its sights about two months ago in a race that took place abroad and it sounded a lot like your car sounded in the video, money well spent, and even if something does go wrong your vehicle is unique.

i'm not posting much lately as the car was vertualy finished, so there wasn't much to report really.
when i tracked it a week or so ago, i put it into a barrier and picked up a little damage.
nothing drastic, but the cost of repairing might cost me more than replacing the body with another car.
so i'm looking for another car at the moment.
to convert another car wont take very long as i didn't really do much to the shell to get it all in there.it would just be unbolting all the engine, box and running gear and bolting it into another car.
i could probably convert another e30 in about a fortnight, for less cost than repairing the car i allready have.
i'll probably alter one or two details as i go along,
and it gives me something to do over the winter

it's a pity, i suppose it really hurts to put your beloved car that's just almost finished into the barrier
Don't you have any videos? And can you tell how the car drives?
I just took a ride with my m8s 335 - and i couldnt' get sleep that night
I can only imagine how it feels to have 400hp under the bonnet

richy and myself went 50/50 on it as he wanted the 2.5 lump for
his se.
went to eastbourne for it, so it was a 400 mile round trip.
i'll put a few pics up of it next week, but here's one for starters,
check out the number plate!

yes steve, did it all myself.Did you do all the work yourself Glen?? How much would you charge somebody to do it to there car?? How easy would you say it was??
it was very easy, but electrics aren't my strongpoint, had to get a little help with them.
wouldn't know where to start with pricing a job like this up.
if you priced up the parts alone, it would frighten most people off!
