I am currently in the progress of an M60 swap, I say in progress more like failing to start. What I have so far;

- M60 4.0L engine
- M60 non EWS ECU and Loom
- 5 Speed Manual box
- E34 Manifolds
- WMS 4-pot Callipers
- Apex Shocks and springs
- Wildwood Pedal Box and Master Cylinders (no servo)
- C101 and X20 wiring
- E34 Radiator
- E34 Clutch
- 2.93 LSD
- M3 Fuel tank - 2 Pumps
- Gargastic engine mounts
- electric fan (to be purchase)
- 328 prop front half - standard e30 back half (to be purchased)

- Car is a 318 G reg M40 manual(right hand drive)

I have a few questions I was wondering some one with excpereince on this kind of swap could assist with?

- E34 manifolds, should I not be wasting my time trying to chop them? Also I have to Co2 sensors on the engine loom of my M60, can I get rid of them?
- I don't have AC the lump has AC pump, does anyone know what belts can be used as Im getting rid of the AC etc
- Lowering cross member, is this necessary? I don't want to be cutting my sump apart if I can avoid it.
- Does anyone have any suggestions or potential "Gotcha's" I might face with my part list above

Thanks for your help in advance.

Oh and if anyone knows the part numbers for the gearbox bolts - as I seemed to have missed place those TW@T!

Hi, look for the manifolds of an X5,they will need modifying at the ends to point them down the floor, a lot less work and they tuck in tight to the engine

Yes indeed have seen this option done on a few online, haven't been able to pick up any cheap so far, If the current set doesn't work I'm thinking of paying for fabrication

Engine wise, check your knock sensors are the same on both looms, this is where im currently stuck as im refusing to pay £250 for four new sensors.

Exhaust wise, I wouldnt waste my time trying to hack together manifolds. Ergen make great off the shelf items (What I have bought) although not cheap.

Other than that probably not much really. I believe you have to lower the cross member at least 10mm although 20mm is more standard.

Oh and AC. my engine started off with AC, although my car doesnt have it. it should be a seperate belt, so just take it off and un-bolt the pump.
