currently in process of taking a 4.4 out of a 97 e38

i was planning on a ews del on the ecu
do i still need to retain the ews box and key from donor car?
any help appreciated

As far as I know most people offering 'EWS delete' services on these are actually just fitting an EWS emulator, so the EWS is not actually deleted. Therefore the EWS module and chip can still be used if the emulator is removed

Can use an M60 404 non EWS ECU, and M60 loom. Need to weld a bracket to the engine for M60 crank sensor, and get ECU mapped/chipped to take advantage of extra .4 litre.

Cant you just use the EWS bits? Module, key chip etc...

404 ECU is a non EWS, 484 is EWS.
