iv just realised that the 5 has a LSD in the bad boy, if i change the rear diff cover would it fit on the E30s sub frame mounts?
also i think it may need abit of love given to it.... is there anyone on here that rebuilds them?

thanks
ben

The 5 has a large case diff and the E30 can only take small or medium case diffs. Internal pars cannot be swapped between medium and large case diffs so if you want to use the 5 series LSD then you'll need to put the whole rear subframe in which is quite a job but possible. I've used a 525d medium case 2.64 LSD which bolts straight in after changing the rear cover to an E30 one.

E28 large case diff bolts into a e30 subframe, and the e28 hubs can me modified to fit the trailing arms. need a new diff mounts to the chassis and drive shafts for the larger hubs.

This is how prodrive built the rally cars and hass been copied by rally m3's since.

Not sure if the e34 diff works
