Is the same ECU used for manual and automatic M60B40's?

I have an engine and ECU from an auto car and a gearbox and loom from a manual car. Can I use the ECU from the auto car?

Cheers Adam. I haven't found out yet. Although I'm pretty sure it's just a case of jumping the pins for the connection to the autobox that tell the ECU not to start the car if the auto box is not in neutral. Also there must be differences between the 3.0 and 4.0 ECU's.

Yea the ECU's are the same, also in B30's. The chips are a bit different, though I'm not sure if that really matters as the pin-outs are exactly the same in all of them.

Maybe someone has researched this further?
