Just though id stick this up here as it may help a few people out. we had a lot of trouble finding acurate dimensions for the m60/62 engine so now we have our m60 im going to put any dimensions we take up on here so others can find them.
atm we have
height :~24" 610mm sump to manifold top
width: ~27.5" 700mm head to head
length: gearbox face to head front ~24" 610mm
add ~6" 150mm for the pulleys and fan on the front.

When you're at it you should measure the distance to the top of the throttle-body / engine cover. That's where the hood will touch if the engine sits too high.
Btw, what's the width of E30 frame rails? In my opinion M60 won't come through if one would like to drop it on to floor but not sure..

Yes they are. S62 is also very similar, but it's height is bigger than in M60 / M62 due to ITB's / air box.E30-830 wrote:Would the M60 dimensions be the same as the M62??

212kg, the engine without any ancillaries nor gearbox is 142kg.
You can check all the weights at www.bmwfans.info ;)
