Right then, with not using these subframe spacers everyone raves on about. I'm looking into cutting a arch in the oil sump pan so it sits slighting over the steering rack.
A lot if work yes but what do you all think of this?
M60 needs to be lower

I'm stubborn and don't want to use the spacer
Plus iv heard it messes with the geometry of the suspension setup.
I was just looking under the old girl last night and might look into moving the rack down slightly and then looking into modding the oil pan.
Just need a spare to experiment with.
I need to put oil takeoffs in there anyway for the twin turbo setup so it needs modding anyway

I wonder how much different the sump depth/clearance there is compared to an S62? I fitted my engine with no subframe spacers.
If you want anything measured, let me know.
Cheers. Dave.
Cheers. Dave.
I can imagine they are very close in comparison. I maybe wrong but isn't the angle of the 'V' more acute on the S62 than the M60/62?
Regardless yes please Dave if you could take a measurement and picture of your master piece that would be super mega grand man

I usually only show my master - piece to ladies Ben!
I *thought* they were the same 90 degree angle?
Shall I measure from the sump gasket face to bottom of the sump above the rack, and I guess from the bottom engine mount bolt to gasket face/bottom of the rack?
I just thought... I modified my transmission tunnel a fair bit. I'm not sure if that would have any influence on engine position?

What do you need advising with lad?
Haha well I'll tell you what Dave I'll let you just show them lady's your Master piece
Yea if you could grab them measurements matey that would be great ”¦ of the S62 that is haha
I beat the living day lights out of my bulkhead but left the tunnel as the 6speed is quite small.

well here we go i went head and started it,
i have cut the top part off the subframe and intend to strengthen the inside
I'm also going to sort the steering rack brackets out as well to do away with the spacers needed to fit a E46 rack.
