So I'm just researching and trying to price parts at the moment, but I'm wondering if someone can tell me exactly what manifold parts they used for their conversion or where and how much their custom ones cost them?
I'm looking at using a M60 4litre as they seem to be more abundant than the others.

Thankyou

X5 manifolds are the best fit and need least modifications, at least in LHD cars..

Yep, out of all the manifolds I dont see any one set being better then the other.

X5 ones are pricey to buy and you will end up cutting them to pieces just like the others so there isnt much point. The lh bank fouls the starter motor and the rh bank needs alot of work, certainly not bolt on

Iv posted alot of times the issues with the exhaust manifolds but I cant seem to find any of the threads as im too inpatient.

On lhd conversions its seems alot of manifolds can be done with minor work but not on a rhd.

After doing on myself I would really recommend buying the JP exhaust manifolds (if they are still making them) or finding a company to make some. Currently working on a car with a set of the JP manifolds so I will be dynoing it along with mine to see the comparison, hopefully looking at some good gains as most of the standard manifold looks like this

Unless your a welder yourself this would be my recommendation, it is a pig of a job and a hashed up manifold is a bit shit

JP are indeed still making them, i recently got in touch with them to see if they are for the build i'll be attempting this spring. they need your car, and are in Macclesfield, it's worth noting :) I don't know if anyone else makes them elsewhere in UK, but there's definately plenty of fabricators

I believe the early manifold are the best for flow/power, is this right?

I doubt there is any real difference in flow between the manifolds. All of them are basically the same (M60B30-B40, M62B35-B44). Even the S62 has very similar manifolds, and many of these engines have been pushed to over 500bhp with a supercharger.

I'd say the best way to go is to use the ones that fit with least work. In LHD cars they are X5 manifolds.
