what have people gone for to achieve the correct tacho reading for a 6cylinder tacho?
i know that you will need to up the signal to accommodate the 8 cylinder signal coming from the ECU but what has everyone used to get this?

4-cyl code plug to instrument cluster + "signal halfer" between ECU and tacho (which takes every other pulse from rpm-signal away).

Simple and works well :)

I see, I remember you saying something like that before matey. Any idea how much a signal halfer is and where I can
Pick myself up one :)

e30.de / stifter, should be around 40...50€.

Those can be bought on many "racer shops" as well, at least in USA there seemed to be many manufacturers. Should be easy to find with google :)

Hmmm very interesting will, what's the owners handbook part?
Does the e30 rear plugs fit the e34 cluster?

Ahh i see, sounds interesting but the biggest problem for me is I scrapped the bloody e34 :(
I wonder if you could take the e30 cluster apart and butcher I mean replace the e30 tachometer with the e34 tachometer? Reason is I basically have none of them sensors that the e34 cluster would want to see so it would complain more than my mom all the time.
