Hi all.
Do all v8 conversions make use of the e34 electric fan with a manually operated switch for the cooling system?
Does anybody know of how this setup can be modified so that the fan can operate off of a coolant sensor switch, thus coming on automatically?
Apologies if this has been covered in somebody's build thread, there's an awful lot of information i'm wading through currently.

Thanks

Sure it can be done. Temperature sensor is needed, and as close as you can get it to the engine better it is. Wiring is simple, you just need to use relay and thick enough cables or else you risk fire in engine bay :)
I'm thinking that the best place to put a tem. sensor would be either thermostat housing or under the intake manifold on the engine block you have that metal plate which covers top of it.
