Smoke

Drove an M Coupe today which may well have been sitting for a couple of weeks and not driven hard for a while.

After 2 to 3 miles of gentle driving when the oil temp gauge started to move, I dropped from 5th to 3rd on a dual carriageway and gave it some.

This created a wall of smoke behind. After that no smoke - even when revving to the red line.

Does this sound like a big problem or acceptable behaviour from and S50?

Bought the car. Never been a repeat experience. 99% sure that this was just condensation in the exhaust system getting blown out. Car seems to have been driven very little and probably gently for the last couple of years.
