Has anyone successfully fitted one from another model?
I'm about to drop an Alpina B10 3.3 lump in my E30 and was wondering if the E39 cluster can be made to work.
Ignoring the physical fitting problems, is it possible wiring/electronics wise?
I would imagine revs and water temp wouldn't be too hard but what about the speedo/odo signal?
Cheers,
Bryn.

Cheers for the reply.
No idea on the ECU, does it matter? I have the complete B10 anyway. The engine is a US M3 iron block with a single vanos Alpina M52 head.
What is the reason the cluster can't be used? Surely anything is possible?!
Cheers,
Bryn

Ok, you can use the cluster, but you would need to swap over the complete body loom and all the modules as this is can-bus and can-bus says no to conversionsbryn_p wrote:Cheers for the reply.

The ECU needs certain signals depending on version to keep it happy, if you tell me which one it is I can give you some better advice, have you started the conversion yet? Will be over your way at the weekend and wouldnt mind a nose
Thanks for you reply mate.
I haven't started yet, both cars are still complete. The engine in the B10 wants a head gasket so I'm getting that done first to assess the health of the engine before I go any further.
I'll have a look at the ecu and report back...
