S50B30 Engine weight / M3 S50 Weight?

Hi there,

S50B30 Engine weight, can't find no were on the net.
trying to work out what the weight of my M3 S50 (Standard 1989 M3 not stripped out)

Any ideas?

A lot of the weights on websites are for a bare engine, once its dressed complete with all ancillaries it will weigh a lot more, even adding the oil and coolant will add 10-15KG.

Get your car on some scales is the only way to tell really. I have heard the S50 is quite heavy though.
Do you know how heavy a standard M3 is?

Hi a standard M3 weighs in at 1165kg, not sure on how much the engine alone weighs. (Again can’t find this on the net)

S50 is about 40-45kg's heavier than the s14, depending if you have the 5 or 6 speed box.

Just drive to a local quarry and chuck the weigh bridge bloke a fiver to get it weighed.

Ok cool, so i guess its roughly about 1300kg -1320kg tops
