Its an M54B30, he has been working on it for about 3-4 years now IIRC, maybe one day he will start to knock out plug/play ECU's for them?

is there any point, better off modifying the oem ecu to work much like what people do with the S54's S85's etc

If it simplifies it then im all for it, but at the moment modding the original ECU is the way people are going. Trouble is, the ECU modders are charging so much to sort the ECU's you could buy a standalone system for the similar money

Suppose difference is, you get to work from BMWs map with the original ECU so your not starting from scratch and end up paying a tuner the same again as the standalone to get it to run acceptably for a road car.
Trouble is the ECU modders know this and are charging appropriately
