wanting to know which fuel pump people are using on the above conversion.
Im wanting a quite-ish pump, so what do you guys recommed from personal experiences.....

I was planning to use a S50 EVO pump in my M3 and use the intank pump as lifter pump to fill a swirl pot in which I mounted the pump. All fitted in the boot. Few pictures.

tested to 2bar (29psi) pressure before fitting it. The black plastic is the pump retainer bracket.

To give an update I've fitted the evo pump in e30 hanger all is working well.
Question is my car is a tech 1, so I've taken out the external pump made electrical wiring safe.
I'm using the original power source which is at the e30 hanger for the lifter pump.
Ive noticed over a few days that the electrical wires are getting hot. Is this usual?.....
OR
Should I extend and use the wiring from the external pump?
I'm worried It may catch fire

Are the cables at the hanger the same gauge (thickness) as the cables that used to feed the external pump? If they are a smaller gauge then STOP using them and extend the ones for the external pump. If your not sure get someone to check! At least its all fine, at worst your heading for a fire!

Just checking that E30 wiring is up to the job supplying power for the Evo pump.

Update
I've extended the wiring from the external pump ti the new intank.
Drove the car for about a hour everything seems ok wiring not excessively hot.
Feel at ease now.......can put rear bench back down.

Just a thought the E46 M3 fuel pump is 5bar can this be fitted into E30 hanger??

I couldn't live with the external pump the humming/buzzing very annoying no matter how quiet it seems in the car when your out you can hear it.ajay wrote:I do have 1 and did think about trying it but ended up using an external pump in the old location, (5 bar no issues and quiet too).
May pickup a E46 pump see whats involved.

Ah i see, no chance of hearing any such thing on my E30 once its running. I would offer you my m3 pump but the tank is at the back of one of my garages ( under piles of stuff) so it a headache to get it for not much ££. GL
