Hello everyone.
IF it materialises, (fingers crossed), I could be looking at an P reg e36 m3 EVO 3.2 that lives under a bush and the owner seems to not have a clue what it is and wants rid!

I have had a good read of others Q&A, So I take it it is s50b32. I will need the ews bits and pieces, but
Could I / should I use:

-the gearbox - i currently have 318is engine on my tourings original 318i box.
-the diff and prop?
-will exhaust manifolds work?

and am I right in thinking that I can use the suspension arms to 'widetrack' my e30.
and if I can, will I have to use the e36 diff and driveshafts?

What exactly are you trying to do..? :?

If you are talking about dropping the B32 into your car, you are only just beginning in terms of cost and work..

The front legs/brakes/control arms can be used to 5 stud your front end, but you'll need a Compact rear end.

Yes I am considiering putting the b32 into my car, if the e36 is not cost effective to fix. What are the other costs involved? -Ignoring the wide track issue.
engine mounts
shortened prop? e30 m3?
Different sump? e34 or something?
Expensive exhaust system and manifolds- I can weld stainless.
Probably convert the wiring myself cos there seems to be some really good diy guides on here.

do I use the e36 diff because I'll have it? or should I use an e30 one?
do I use the 6 speed box because I'll have it?

Hopefully I can use the rad and other bits unless they are mashed.
Apparently it understeered into a kerb at speed and nearside suspension at the front is mullered (which is why I'm not gonna bother to wide track it at this stage). Along with 'some' panel damage. I wont be able to see it till the new year, to make a proper assessment, but just trying to do my homework.

Any help would be much appreciated.

You are looking at another 4k odd of bits on top of the engine..

Diff is no good to you.
Custom prop and mount to use the 6 speeder
It's not just a case of being able to weld, the manifold is an intricate design with lots of thought and development put into the lengths etc. The engines are very sensitive to such things. Only proven on is BTB @1.5k, your welding skills might help you with the exhaust system though.
Oil cooler
Servo
Master cylinder
ARP's and probably shells,
Drill and tap sump for oil return
Engine mounts, AKG to stop all contact

There is more..
