History
My car is a early E30 M3
fitting a 3 litre engine in (S50)
Having got a wiring harness link - am still having no luck

have got the battery linked up the wiring on the engine and linked to the car
3 power cables on s50 engine loom
1 power cable on e30 fuse box

dash lights up and is getting power but am not get any power to the fuel pump - well no noise
Also the starter is not turning over.

The 3 engine relays - am getting power to all of these
Image

The fuel pump wiring - 2 plug - larger plug seems to be the fuel level sender - small plug right side of image - no power coming here
Image

Have been speaking to Dan - But dont want to disturb him too much - he said fuse 9 was the fuel pump - seem there is power here.
Can I confirm that fuse 9 is the 9th one at the top of this image?
Image

This is my wiring block under the dash - can I use this to test any of the wiring/power supplies from here?
Image

Could anyone point out anything that I can test to see if everything is getting power?

While on the phone with dan he said as my car is an early car I should see if I have wiring on pin 15 - this is for the starter motor - I dont have this so have linked both small starter terminals together.

Fuse 11 is fuel pump mate

The relay on the far right of your pic is for the fuel pump, thick Green/Purple wire runs to the fusebox fuse 11 via the C101 then down into the car and back to the fuelpump via a square plug/socket on the rear seat next to the vent tube

Also there are 5 relays in your pic, the one next to the fuel pump relay is the starter relay, the thick Black/Yellow wire is to the starter motor, the thin Black/Yellow is to the C101, put a test light onto this and see if it lights up when cranking

crossie, I remember once at the Ring I had issues with the starter not working on a very hot day which went away on it's own. But that was with the S14 still fitted. Don't know how much of the electrics is carried over when fitting an S50, so better check relais, wiring, ignition barrel for proper function before you head in the wrong direction.

UWE
Did your fluid level sensor and hand brake sensor work or was the light always on?

Also couple of wires under the car - any ideas?

neither was connected or lit up on the dash.

I yellow wire under the car was from the reverse light switch IIRC.

The sensor for the handbrake is mounted to the lever itself at the rear, if your handbrake light is on constantly i'd suggest checking to see if the switch has come away from it's mounting bracket.

Brakes

Condition including inappropriate repairs or modifications, operation and performance (efficiency test). Note the removal of the road wheels and trims are not part of the test. ABS or electronic stability control (ESC) where fitted. Check of the MIL for ABS, electronic stability control, electronic park brake and brake fluid warning.
